Fine Art Lamps - 866840-22LD

Inspired by one of the largest asteroids in our solar system that continuously orbits the outer reaches of space. Its rocky form has been punished over billions of years since the early formation of our planets. Our glass artisans have recreated this celestial form using a unique technique of freehand glassblowing that creates a ghostlike illumination through the amber colored glass. Each handblown, sculptural piece is a unique work of contemporary art hanging from a soft gold leaf canopy. Approximate blown glass drop dimensions: 5.5''W x 6.5''H.

Fine Art Lamps’ artistic heritage began in the glass making factory founded by Max Blumberg in New York in the late nineteenth century. In 1940, his son, Jack Blumberg gathered the finest designers, sculptors, and decorative artists to fulfill their vision of becoming the premier lighting manufacturer in the world, and Fine Art Lamps was born. From the beginning, Fine Art Lamps has achieved a high artistic standard by creating unique and original lighting designs of beautifully handcrafted metal, hand-blown glass, and other unique materials with exquisite hand applied finishes. Since 1965, Max Blumberg, Jack’s son and namesake of his Grandfather, has carried on the family commitment to design excellence and superb workmanship. The company has been honored with numerous design awards including the prestigious ART Manufacturer of the Year Award nine times distinguishing the company and qualifying its induction in the ART Hall of Fame.
